Obituary of Clifford Gordon Sanford

Clifford Gordon Sanford – 88, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born and raised in Ross Corner, NS, he was the son of the late Harold and Jennie (MacDonald) Sanford. He was also predeceased by his son, Mark; siblings, Keith Sanford, Marion Coolen, Dexter Sanford and Pearl Faulkner. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Inez "Kay" (Bamford) Sanford; daughter, Cheryl Loeffler (Beau); son, Scott Sanford (Laura); daughter-in-law, Jo Ellen Sanford (Roland Belliveau); three grandchildren, Serena Silliker (Robert), Andrew and Grayson; great grandson, Ryker; siblings, Muriel "Dot" Berlemont, Donald Sanford, Clayton Sanford, Paul Sanford and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cliff served 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and included postings to Newfoundland, Montreal, Germany and Oromocto. After retiring from the CAF, Cliff and his brother-in-law started a construction company, building many homes in the Oromocto Area. He loved woodworking, including woodturning and making Shaker furniture. Many of his creations were crafted and donated to various charities and can be found in the homes of many family and friends. He was an avid gardener and served on the Board of Directors of the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery and the Trustee Board at Oromocto Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of 4NW for the professional and compassionate care that Cliff received in his final days. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Cliff made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Oromocto Baptist Church or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Oromocto Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
