Obituary of Ernest Alphone McKay

It is with sadness that the family of Ernest McKay announces his death at Hospice Fredericton on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the age of 72. Born in Fredericton, NB, on February 1, 1946, he was the husband of Norma McKay of Burton, NB. In addition to wife, Norma, Ernest leaves behind his children, Ernest McKay, Charmaine Lawrence (Aric) and Timothy Woods (Jessica); brother, Donald McKay; sisters, Alice Bonnar, Charlotte Bubar (Emerson), Karen "Ann" Knox, and Mabel Crewdson; several grandchildren; nephews, Chris, Sandy, and Dale Fairley; niece, Wendy Hickey (Alex). Ernest was predeceased by his parents, Ernest "Bearcat" and Pearl (Gallant) McKay; sisters, Kimberley Crewdson and Theresa Hanson; brother-in-law, Aubrey Bonnar. Ernest will be remembered by his family as a man who enjoyed being busy, either fixing things or working outside, and who loved his dog, Tanner. He will be dearly missed. A memorial gathering will be held at the Upper Gagetown Lions Club on Sunday, May 6, from 2-4 pm
