Obituary of Mark Wayne Poore

It is with sadness that the family of Mark Wayne Poore announces his death at Hospice Fredericton on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the age of 71. Born in Saint John, NB, on November 16, 1946, he was the son of the late Frederick and Ida (Guthrie) Poore. Mark leaves behind his brothers, Frederick (Doris) of Westfield, NS, Albert of New Glasgow, NS, and Kenneth (Verna) of Swan Creek, NB; his two nieces and great-niece; special bingo partner, Priscilla; and coffee friend, Fay. Mark was a veteran of the Canadian Navy, joining in 1964 and serving on several ships throughout his 25 year military career. He worked for an additional 10 years with the Navy as a civilian following his retirement. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at his cottage, and was an avid bingo player. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, May 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 93, will hold a tribute at 1:45 pm just prior to the service. Interment will be in Spurden Carr Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark's memory can be made to Hospice Fredericton.
