Obituary of Carl R Dykeman

Carl’s family sadly announces his passing at Oromocto Public Hospital on May 2, 2018, but are happy for him that he is at last free from the prison of dementia and now at peace. Born December 28, 1946 in Jemseg, he was the son of the late Wendell and Melba (Todd) Dykeman. Carl is survived by his wife Cheryl; sons Andrew, Benjamin (Stephenie) and Isaac, as well as several grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves to mourn sisters Anna McKinney, Helen Dykeman (Gabe Gibson); brother Clinton (Margaret); brothers-in-law Ken Underhill, Fred Black, James Bogart (Bonnie); sisters-in-law Joy Bogart (Henry), Amy Knight (Michael) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Patricia Dykeman, Gladys Black, Leta Underhill, and Phyllis Ferguson, brother Walter, brothers-in-law Allan McKinney and Malcolm Ferguson. Carl dearly loved the farm where he was born and lived all his life until recent years. He was a plumber / pipefitter, farmer and proud member of UA Local 325. Our family would like to thank the kind and gentle people at Orchard View Nursing Home who gave him loving care these last years. There will be a private family committal service at the Jemseg Community Cemetery. A reception for friends and neighbours will be held at the Jemseg Lions Hall on May 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM. For those who wish, donations in his memory may be made to the good works of the SPCA, Jemseg Lions Club or Camp Medley.
