Obituary of Margaret Ann Howland

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Ann (Williams) Howland announce her passing on May 14, 2018, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in St. Stephen on April 1, 1937, she is the daughter to the late Leigh and Annie Williams Margaret was a long-time resident of Oromocto until moving to Paradise Villa Senior’s Residence Complex in 2014 to live out her remaining years. She held various occupations, including homemaker, farmer, shoe factory worker, and in-home caregiver. She was an active member of the Oromocto Pioneers Square Dance Club for many years. She spent her retirement years doing the things she loved, like sewing/quilting, knitting, completing puzzles, and gardening. She loved animals, particularly her daughter’s little white dog named Carver. She enjoyed spending time with her family and the fellow residents of Paradise Villa. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Linda Dixon (Danny) and Gwendolyn Munn (James); son, Darrell Howland (Judy); Her grandchildren, Dwayne Howland, Dale Perry, Roger Howland (Carol-Ann), Kevin Howland, Tricia McMullan, Melissa Munn (Shane), Rhonda Howland (Kenneth), Kristin Dixon, Maddison Howland, Marcus Howland; great grandchildren, Douglas Howland, Derek Howland, Isabella Howland, Keanna Howland, Daniel Howland, Catherine Rogers, Riley Mitchell, Khloe Howland, Liam McMullan, Connor Howland, Mischa McMullan, Jacqueline Howland; brother, Frederick Williams (Valerie); as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret is predeceased by a sister, Cornelia Carr. The family would like to thank Dr. Corey Stevens, Dr. Jill Hudson, the doctors and staff of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, and the staff at Paradise Villa Seniors Residence Complex. The care and compassion you showed Margaret over the last few years is truly appreciated and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Oromocto Funeral Home from 7 – 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11 am with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. A private family interment will be held at the Burton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Oromocto SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.
