Obituary of Wayne A.C. Martin

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wayne Arthur Charles Martin announces his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 13, 2018, at the age of 69. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of Dorothy and the late Arthur Martin. Wayne is survived by the love of his life for 32 years, Dayle Martin; his mother; his three children, Steven (Melinda), Rachel Brushett (Sean), Jeff (Nichol); Dayle's children, Natasha (Johnny Bee), Troy, and Sean (Lisa), to whom he was a devoted father figure. Also by sisters, Nancy, Barb, Bonnie; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and furry companion, Misty Blue Martin. Wayne was extremely proud of his military career, spending 25 years serving as part of the Royal Canadian Engineers. After the military Wayne worked for 15 years as a commissionaire at the Fredericton International Airport. He was fantastic at his job, always had a smile and stats on the previous nights hockey game. Wayne was a huge Montréal Canadiens fan, never missing a game. Playing pool, cards, dice, darts, and watching wrestling were some of his favorite pastimes. Wayne could be seen driving around in his decked out Montréal Canadiens car or in his summer car with the top down and his beloved Dayle by his side. Wayne will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm officiated by Johann Grimm. Interment will follow in Oromocto Pioneer Gardens. For those who wish, donations in Wayne's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
