Obituary of Joanne Francis

Unexpectedly, after a period of brief illness, Joanne Catherine Francis passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Halifax, NS, she is the daughter to the late Stuart and Lois (MacIntosh) Card and loving mother to Stephen and Matthew Francis. Joanne worked for the federal government in public service for 33 years with time spent in CFB Gagetown. She was a beautiful soul. Her love for her children, grandchildren and friends were the center of her life. She was a kind, loving mother and grandmother who adored her boys and granddaughters so very much. A proud hockey mom, she was strong and dependable...our rock. Joanne is survived by her sons, Stephen Francis of Regina, SK and Matthew Francis of Oromocto, NB and their father Rocky Francis of Chilliwack, BC; brother Hugh and Eleanor Card of Fredericton, NB; granddaughters Atlin and Ava Francis of Regina, SK, and Sandra, Mylee and Chloe Francis of Oromocto, NB; niece Katie Card of Wolfville, NS, and Nephew Aaron Card of Fredericton, NB, as well as several extended family members and many wonderful friends A Memorial Service celebrating Joanne’s life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel at 1 pm with the Reverend Jane Johnson officiating. Donations in memory of Joanne may be made to the Parkinson’s Society.
