Obituary of John Edward Mosher

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Edward Mosher on December 13, 2018, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Windsor, NS, on March 8, 1932, he was the loving husband of Claire (Jackson) Mosher of Fredericton, NB. In addition to his wife, Claire, John is survived by his sons, John Mosher (Cathy) of Petawawa, ON, David Mosher (Carole-Lynda) of Windsor, ON and Gary Mosher of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Teri, Jennifer (Barry), Lindsay (Joel), Evan (Ally), and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Addyson, Mason, Ben, Jayden, Emilee, Abby, and William; sisters, Ella Goddard (Garnet) and Marjorie LeBlanc (Tommy). John was predeceased by his parents, Lorn and Clara (Gallagher) Mosher; brothers, Elmer, Clarence "Bud", and Jim Mosher; sisters, Georgina Foley and Mary Dearman John served in the Canadian Military for 25 years, retiring in 1975. During his career he did tours in Korea, Vietnam, Germany, and Cyprus. He was a proud veteran and very active with The Royal Canadian Legion, serving as Provincial President in 1994/95, and enjoyed visiting and volunteering at the Veterans Health Unit in Fredericton. John was also a member of the BPOE Elks Club where he worked with the hearing impaired. In his spare time John loved to dance and was an avid hockey player, something he enjoyed in his youth all the way through to his time playing with the Oromocto Pioneers. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:00 am with The Rev. Canon Walter Williams officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 will hold a tribute prior to the service beginning at 10:45 am. Interment will take place in Oromocto Pioneer Gardens at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93, DECH Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
