Obituary of Alexander Charles Buchanan
With a tear in my eye and a smile on my face, I say goodbye to my greatest partner, Alexander Buchanan on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Born on May 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Cole) Buchanan and loving husband of Dianne (Foster) Buchanan.
Alexander was a man of fun music, an outdoor enthusiast, he like to hunt and fish. He also loved to play Bingo, and when he no longer could play, he would come along and colour. He was a great Firefighter, retiring as Captain after a 33 year career. He loved his job and his team, who worked hard to accomplish the best results.
Alexander had two sons, Todd (Angie) and Derek and a grandson, Alexander. His family also consisted of two brothers, Dan (Mary) and Wayne (Azelda); a sister-in-law Gloria, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Alexander and I travelled a lot with many great friends and family, the memories of which I will cherish forever. I was not just his wife but his companion and his care giver. I will never regret one day of his care. I am grateful for my neighbours who watched over him as he loved to walk outside in the sun and just smile. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Tom and his in-laws.
I would like to thank the staff of White Rapids Manor Nursing Home for their care and compassion during these difficult days.
