Obituary of Sylvia Doreen Henderson

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sylvia Doreen Henderson announces her passing on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Wirral, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Doris (Wooden) Rice and wife of the late Donald Francis Henderson. Sylvia is survived by her children Donald Henderson (Angela) of Oromocto, NB, Douglas Henderson (Beverly) of Oromocto, NB, Paul Henderson (Maureen) of Fredericton, NB and Brenda Marsden (Wayne Braye) of Oromocto, NB; brothers Richard Rice of BC, Christopher Rice of BC, Charles Rice (Nancy) of AB, Carl Rice (Donna) of Wirral, NB, Brian Rice (Rhea) of Wirral, NB, Bruce Rice (Tabatha) of Wirral, NB, David Rice (Debbie) of Fredericton, NB and Terry Rice (Gail) of St. John, NB; sister Yvonne Rogers (Buster) of Hampton, NB; sister-in-law Brenda Rice of St. John, NB; grandchildren Donald Henderson (Lisa), Stephanie Henderson, Jennifer Douthwright (Anthony), Amanda Douthwright (Danny), Jessica Colford (Catlin), Nicole Henderson, Caitlin Christie (Kent), Joshua Marsden (Stacy) and Jenna Mills (Mighel); 10 great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Sylvia was predeceased by brothers Howard Rice (Karen) and Art Rice; sister Pauline Benjamin (Reg); a granddaughter Tanya Reid and son-in-law Nathan Marsden. Visitation will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Father Charles Udeh as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Sylvia’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
