Obituary of Jared Bailey

It is with profound sadness that the family of Gunner Jared Douglas Bailey announce his passing on July 2, 2019, at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB. Born on October 15, 1992, in New Glasgow, NS, he was the son of James and Janet Lynn (Dickson) Bailey. In addition to his parents, Jared will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Rachel (Mahoney) Bailey and their adorable daughter, Lucille Dawn Bailey; their charismatic pupperdoo, Canna; brother, Jacob Bailey (Stephanie Brideau); grandmother Merida Bailey; special cousins, Gabrielle Bailey, Christina Bailey, Mary Bailey, Christopher Teiman, Lauren Teiman, and Lindsay Moore; Aunts Dana Bailey Durgin, Sandra Teiman (David Lloyd) and Uncles Kirk Bailey (Nicole Bailey) and Paul Dickson; In-laws David and Diane Mahoney and their children Jonathan, Daniel, Micheal and Rebecca. Jared spent his life brightening the hearts and selflessly carrying the loads of others. He meant the world to so many and brought joy and laughter with him wherever he went. He will be missed beyond belief and a hole, that can never be filled, is left in his place. Jared’s dedication to serving others and a lifelong interest in the military history of Canada found full expression when he joined the Canadian Armed Forces. Gunner Jared Bailey was immensely proud to serve. A leader, an example and a selfless friend, he will be sorely missed by his comrades in arms, a loss not just to friends and family but Canada. Jared was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Jim Bailey Sr.; maternal grandparents, Douglas and Betty Dickson and a brother, whom was a long time cancer fighter, David Fang Xu. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, from 6-9 pm at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St, Oromocto, NB. The funeral service will be held from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 986 Smythe St, Fredericton, NB, on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 1 pm. Bishop Robb MacGougan will officiate. Jared will be interred in the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens, with full military honours. For those who wish, memorial donations in Jared's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Research Society or the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation directed to the Pediatric Department. His courageous battle here is over, but a new adventure is only beginning. Soldier on.
