Obituary of Cheryl Lynn Edwards

It is with great sadness that the family of Cheryl "Sherri" Lynn Edwards announce her passing on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Fredericton, NB. Born on July 9, 1965 in Barrie, Ontario, Sherri was the daughter of the late Lloyd Edwards and Gertrude (Canning) Edwards. Sherri will be dearly missed by her son, Matthew Dana (Alyssa); daughters, Sarah Dana (Colin) and Kaleigh Edwards; her beloved bunny, Smudge Edwards; brother, Barry Edwards (Sheryrl); sisters, Beverly Harrison and Donna Davis (Brian); as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sherri was predeceased by her brothers, Robert (Bob) Edwards, Lloydie Edwards and her great-great niece, Kinsley Smith. As a single mother, at the age of 45, Sherri attended UNB graduating with a BA and BEd, where she remained on the Dean's List for many years. Sherri was on occasion a TA at Oromocto High School, where she greatly influenced many students to reach their academic goals. Sherri was an advocate of mental health. She was the Employment Coordinator for the At Work Program at the Canadian Mental Health Association of NB. Sherri will be remembered for her sense of humour, her artistic talents, her love of nature, her passion for genealogy where she traced the Edwards family back many generations and her ability to find the good in everyone. A celebration of Sherri's life will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 2 pm. As this is a celebration of her life Sherri requested that people attending dress comfortably and colorfully. People are encouraged to write their memories of Sherri in the book provided. At Sherri's request no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association of NB. A private family interment will take place at a later date in the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery.
