Please accept my sincere condolences on Al's passing. I worked with him for many years at Base Supply. He always had time for a chat and always stopped and talked when I met him after I moved on to another job. He was always friendly. He was,of course, a legend on the Base due to his longevity on the job. I know he enjoyed working and retired very reluctantly. RIP Al and blessings to his family during this difficult time. Losing a parent is not easy no matter the age or stage of life.

I was one of those players on the Oromocto 77's Juvenile A teams Al coached to a provincial title way back in 1977. Best years of hockey in my life. I was a lousy skater but Coach Jennings seen something in me and selected me for his Juveile A team. He moulded a gangly group of hockey players into provincial champions. I often think back to those "glory days" and the first person I remember is Coach Jennings. I moved away a year after we won the title but those memories of playing on Coach Jennings team have never left me. He made quite an impression on me and in the years that followed, I coached many hockey teams using Coach Jennings as my guide. Rest in peace coach, you were one of the good ones.

I worked with Al on several occasions throughout my time as a Cpl in the mid 1980's and as his Company Sergeant Major in the 2000's. He was the true meaning of the word gentleman. He always made time for everyone and was pleasant to talk to. He always was a world of knowledge on a variety of levels, but was very humble. RIP Al you will be missed. To his family, take comfort in knowing that Al touched a lot of hearts and we send our sincere condolences.

Condolences to Dot, Paul, Ritchie, their families and Al's Nova Scotia family Al, you had a way with people and you taught us how to go grow up. Ball was secondary. Your Saturday morning practices were agonizing for us (no fault of yours), but that was self inflicted but you got the best out of us and made us the men we are and the ball players we turned out to be. I can't speak for all the guys but you treated us like your kids. No harsh words just encouragement. Alphonse, I will miss our conversations and mostly, you. Take care my friend and Rest in Peace.

Dorothy, Ritchie and Paul , my sincere condolences on Al's passing. I had the pleasure of playing for Al for several senior softball years in Fredericton. He was the ultimate team guy who always wanted the best for the players. His biggest attribute was that he cared so much on how we played the game, acted on and off the field and respected the opposition and officials. Al was kind, courteous and encouraging. One of the finest men I have ever known. Thinking of you!!
