Obituary of Dwight Alfred Kean

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dwight "Groove" Alfred Kean on September 5, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, N.B. Leaving to mourn are his sisters Shirley Connolly and Elaine Woolridge (Art deceased); niece Lorraine Woolridge (Tracey Bean); nephews Ed Woolridge (Donna) and Glen Connolly along with Betty Damery and many other friends and family. Dwight was predeceased by his parents Alfred & Louise (Blackwood) Kean; stepmother Mary (Freake/Sparkes) Kean and sister Millicent Taylor. Dwight was very soft hearted with a kind and generous nature. He was always wanting to help family, friends, and even strangers, in whatever way he could. He always spoke of his cat companions like they were his children and they held a very special place in his heart. Dwight spent 26 years of honourable service in the Canadian Army including tours in Germany, Egypt and Cyprus. He has left an indelible mark and will be missed by many. At Dwight’s request there will be no visitation. All family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life/Tribute at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93, Restigouche Rd, Oromocto, on September 14, 2019 at 3 pm. There will be a reception and the sharing of stories to follow. Dwight wanted us to laugh and tell stories. Pictures can be sent to Betty at bdamery51@gmail.com, and please if you are unable to attend, send along stories, so that you can be part of Dwight’s Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oromocto SPCA would be appreciated.
