Obituary of Stella Mildred Carr

God called mom home on December 4, 2019, at the Orchard View Nursing Home. Born in Geary, NB, on April 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Eva (Wood) Carr. Stella was a longtime member of the Geary Baptist Church and taught Sunday School and Awana for many years. She loved to sing and had many hymns memorized, which she would sing, either in church or to others with listening ears. Children always seemed to love Stella, whether it was her sense of humor, her singing, or just the way she treated everyone. Mom knew how to brighten someone’s day, caring so much about those around her. She touched many hearts. Best mother ever. She will be greatly missed by her children, Edison Carr (Sharon), Joanne Carr (Ashley) and Jane Carr (Fred Solven); grandchildren, Linton Carr (Judy), Jeff Carr (Kari), Amy Nason (Rick), Matthew Solven (Leanne Doughty), Sonya Solven (Adrian Butts) and Anna Solven (Kevin Watson); 15 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; her last remaining sibling, Teresa Carr; brother-in-law, Ivan Carr; sister-in-law, Polly Carr; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Stella was predeceased by her husband, Oswald Carr; a great grandchild, Jake; sisters, Clara and Vivian; as well as brothers, Vincent and Medley. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 4 – 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Geary United Baptist Church on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Geary, French Lake, Waterville Cemetery Committee or Orchard View Nursing Home.
