Obituary of Janet Lee Polegato

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Lee (Scott) Polegato on January 18, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in 1967 in Bathurst, NB, she is the daughter of David William Scott and the late Mary Laurel (Gildart) Scott and the adored wife of Lionel Polegato. Janet was a school teacher for 26 years. Biology was her favorite subject and she was thrilled to be able to bless her students with the gift of knowledge and education. She was a very kind woman who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, even after her diagnosis and people gravitated to her loving and caring personality. She truly was an amazing lady. Beyond her teaching, Janet also had a few things that made her happy. Most Sports, especially softball, kettle bells, Corona’s and spicy food, the ocean and bare feet, a glass of wine with her "sister-friends", elderly folks she could dote on and above all else, spending time with her beloved husband Lionel. Janet left her mark on this world and the people in it and her passing will be deeply noted. Rest in peace brave lady. In addition to her loving father David, Janet will be dearly missed by and forever in the hearts of her husband and best friend, Lionel Polegato; her adoring and loyal canine fur baby, Milo; her only sibling and dear sister Lynn Newell (David) of Plymouth, Mass.; her very special nieces and nephews Nicole Wooley (Clayton) of Houston, TX, and their daughter Maggie; Cameron Newell (Rachel) of Plymouth Mass., Nico Polegato of Calgary AB; and several extended family members and friends. Arrangements entrusted to Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Str., Oromocto, NB (506) 357-5100 where visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 2- 4 and 6-8 pm. A celebration of Janet’s life will be held at St. Luke’s Chapel on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 2 pm with Padre Darryl Levy officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date, at the family cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or Canadian Cancer Society.
