Obituary of Etelvina Ferreira

It is with great sadness that the family of Etelvina Prazeres da Silva Ferreira announce her peaceful passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 9, 2020. Born in Portugal on April 28, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Adéria Augusta Ferreira and Porfírio da Silva Nunes Gradim. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her strong faith and love of Jehovah grounded her throughout her life and gave her an enduring hope in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection to life on a paradise earth free from sickness and pain. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Carlos Ferreira (Dawn) of Lakeville Corner, Rosa Ferreira Hensley of Fredericton and Maria Ferreira of Lincoln; grandchildren, Jason Clowater, Zachary, Jagger and Destiny Ferreira. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her siblings Alice da Silva of Portugal, Dalila Nunes (Hernani) and Adélio Gradim (Olivia) of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Carlos Ferreira Sr. in 1998, and brothers Orlando, Ciro and Daniel. Special thanks to Dr. Jon Leclerc for his kind and compassionate care as well as Brandi Labeurque for her endless patience. Sincere thanks also to the Oromocto Extra-Mural team as well as the DECH Palliative Care Unit who provided exceptional care and compassion. A private virtual memorial service will take place on June 27th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated and may be made to the Lower Lincoln Cemetery, Oromocto SPCA or charity of the donor’s choice through the Oromocto Funeral Home.
