Obituary of Alden Webb

It is with great sadness that the family of Alden Webb, age 90, of Queenstown, NB, announce his passing which occurred on May 28th, 2020, at Orchard View LTC, Gagetown, NB. Born in Armstrong’s Corner on September 10th, 1929, Alden was the son of the late Maurice and Lulu (Machum) Webb In 1953 Alden moved to Welland, Ontario where he lived and worked until 1960. He and his family returned to NB, residing in Lower Millstream where he worked for Irving Woodlands until 1970. He then purchased his wife’s family (Scovil) farm in Queenstown and farmed until 1991. Upon his retirement he sold the farm to his son Gary who continued apple farming. Alden always enjoyed the great outdoors while he worked, hunted and fished. He had a great love for music, especially fiddle music, Ivan and Vivian Hicks being his favorite for years! He enjoyed driving and took great pride in looking after his vehicles and machinery. Alden is survived by his wife of 65 years, Georgie (Scovil), son Gary Webb (Jane) of Queenstown, daughter Norma McLaughlin (Wade) of Sussex, brother Lloyd Webb (Reta) of Lower Millstream, his grandchildren; Jesse Webb, Evan McLaughlin (Sarah), Jamie Webb (Kaylee), Kathleen Allen (Bruce), Matthew McLaughlin (Emily), Anna Smith (Jeremy), his great grandchildren; Caden Webb, Tyson Allen, Carter Allen, Charlotte Allen, Georgie Webb, Ava McLaughlin, Millie Smith, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Alden was predeceased by three brothers; Kenneth (Betty), Lester (Florence) and Murray (Gladys), great grandson; Bryce McLaughlin, nephews; Billy Webb, Gerald Webb, and Weldon Webb. Memorial donations in memory of Alden may be made to the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church Cemetery Fund, Queenstown, NB, or a charity of donor’s choice. A private family service at Oromocto Funeral Home will take place with Rev. Andrew Horne officiating. A private burial will take place at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church Cemetery.
