Obituary of Carl Alburn Marshall

On Saturday, July 18, 2020, with his wife and daughter by his side, Carl Alburn Marshall, age 78, of Oromocto, NB, passed away peacefully at Hospice House Fredericton. Carl was born in Middleton, NS, to the late Earle Clifford Marshall of Nictaux, NS and the late Annie Laurie (North) Marshall of Middleton, NS. Carl grew up in Middleton where he developed his life-long love of the outdoors. After leaving school, he worked at several jobs before enlisting in the Armed Forces at the age of 21. Carl joined the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in 1962. His career took him to Winnipeg, Petawawa, and three tours in Germany in between, returning to W Bty at CFB Gagetown in 1982, where he retired as a Sgt in 1990. He began his second career as a car salesman and worked several more jobs, ending with a stint as casual school bus driver with Oromocto District 17. He fully retired at age 60 and especially enjoyed summers camping at Everett’s Campground on the Mactaquac headpond. Carl is survived by his wife Coleen (Roach) Marshall and his daughter Susan Marshall of Fredericton. The family would like to thank the staff of Oromocto ER, DECH 3E and Palliative Care, and the staff at Hospice House in Fredericton for his care. There will be a visitation held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 3 – 7 pm. Oromocto Funeral Home will have staff available to advise visitors and guests on social distancing procedures. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Hospice House Fredericton or a charity of the donor’s choice.
