Obituary of Allan Acel Chapman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Acel Chapman who died peacefully at the Fredericton Hospice after a brief battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020. Born on the family farm in Central Cambridge on April 20th, 1938 and he lived on the family homestead for 82 years. He is survived by wife, Grace (Saunders) Chapman, daughter Diane (David) Standen, son Kent (Pattie) Chapman; four grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Standen, Katherine (Jordan) Standen, Austin and Taylor Chapman; two great-grandchildren Thomas & Theodore Standen; sisters Lillian Pugsley, Joyce Thorne, and Lucille Gunter; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by his son Stephen, brother Laurence, sister Isabel, brother Ernest and parents Ralph & Florence Chapman. Allan started out as a young farmer and quickly became a Jack of all trades, while finishing his working career as a heavy equipment operator. Cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the Chapman Cemetery, on Sunday, August 9th at 2pm. The Chapman Cemetery is located on Lower Cambridge Road, on Washademoak Lane, off Hendry Lane (directly opposite from the Hendry Lighthouse). Please feel free to bring your chair for the service. For those who wish, donations in his memory can be made to the Hendry Farm Cemetery Fund (Formerly known as the Chapman Cemetery Fund) or to the donor’s choice.
