Obituary of Ronald Brownridge

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ronald Brownridge announce his peaceful passing on November 4, 2020, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 75. Ron was born in Kelvington, SK on May 13, 1945 and was the son of Cyrus and Clarice Brownridge. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Helen; children, Scott (Ellen) and Shawna (Jeff) Kirkbride; grandchildren Kade, Anna, Kael and Natalie; several nieces and nephews. Ron was particularly close to his niece Kim Weir, nephew Andrew Lake and brother-in-law Bill Lake. Ron will also be deeply missed by his sister, Dorothy, brother-in-law Ronny Schreeuwer and their four sons who live in Israel. Not to be forgotten are his beloved cats, Charlie and Missy. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by brother, Warren; sister-in-law Karen Lake; niece Kelly Lake; and cherished cat, Murphy. Ron joined the army when he was 16 and served for 29 years in the Armoured Corps (RCD). After retiring, he worked with the Militia for a few years, then spent his time fishing, hunting with good friend Rick, woodworking, watching his granddaughters swim and his grandsons play hockey, and travelling the world with Helen. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses at the Oromocto Public Hospital who took such good care of Ron. A special thank you goes out to nurse Doug at the DECH for his kindness and compassion in Ron’s last few hours. Thank you to The Venerable John Sharpe for his comforting words and prayers. At the family's request, there will be no visitation, a service will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at 2:00pm. Unfortunately, due to physical distancing restrictions, we have reached capacity. The service will be live streamed on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at 2:00pm at the following link:https://vimeo.com/476000975
