I was saddened to read of the passing of my old friend Jerry. I met him first back in the early 1980s just before he retired. Rekindled the friendship in the 20 years ago when we moved back here. Our conversations picked up without a beat. God bless you Jerry, Oromocto's boxing pioneer!

Jerry was a gem of a person. He and my father, Frank Grant, served together in Korea. Jerry told me that when he met my father in Korea, my father told him "keep your head down kid, and you'll be alright." Jerry and Frank boxed together, only Jerry was much better at it! :-) Fast forward to 1883, Oromocto NB. My husband Chris and my brother George both served with Jerry with the RCR. Jerry was a kind, friendly and genuine person and he made the world a better place. Rest in peace Jerry. May you and dad climb into the ring for another round and may you two enjoy a round of beers! With sincere sympathy to Jerry's family. May he and his love, Roberta, dance amongst the stars.

Dear Tammie and family. My wife Lynne and I were saddened to learn of Gerry's passing. I first knew him when he was a bartender in the RCR Mess and then had him as a patient for years in my practice. He was a fine man with a wonderful personality and you always felt better after seeing him. He was very proud of his family and always enquired about mine. He will be missed. Best regards, Peter Fraser
