Obituary of Laura Jean Chiasson

It is with great sadness that we would like to announce the death of Laura Jean Chiasson of Oromocto, NB. Laura passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at Shannex Neill Hall after a hard-fought battle with multiple sclerosis. She will be missed by her husband Bruce; mother Barbara; daughters Theresa (Jon) and Angela (Robert); siblings Charles (Nicole), Kathy (Mark), and Ken (Edouard); grandchildren Kellen, Grayson, Wyatt, Emma, Reagan, Emery, Holden, and Elizabeth; as well as many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her father Cecil, mother-in-law Mary Lou, and father-in-law Wilfred. Laura worked for many years at the Canadian Forces Housing Agency in Oromocto. She loved cheering on her favourite hockey team the Saint John Sea Dogs. She has been a season ticket holder since the team's inception and the stands will be much quieter without her tell-tale whistle. Laura enjoyed traveling all over the world with her husband, but her favourite destination was to Nova Scotia to visit her parents in the Annapolis Valley. The family would like to express our special thanks to the staff of Shannex Neill Hall for caring for and loving Laura. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 7, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held from the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
