I will never forget my first day working at Pine Grove Nursing Home nearly three and a half years ago. Someone had told me that Betty was new to Pine Grove, so I went over to introduce myself and told her that I was new to Pine Grove too. She laughed and held my hand, we chatted for a while, and I like to think we became best of friends that day. I have worked there for three summers now and volunteer during the school year, and there was not a day that I visited Pine Grove without stopping to see Betty. I have many fond memories of bike rides, lunch dates, outdoor walks, visits to the virtual aquarium, miniature dance parties, and many a rendition of "You are my Sunshine". When I would go to say goodbye to Betty before leaving for the day, I would always say "I love you...", which would earn me a little smile, followed by "with all of my heart!", which would earn a grin and a laugh. This obituary is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful lady, and my sincerest condolences to all who are missing such a wonderful lady. Betty, I love you (with all of my heart!), you are my sunshine, and I will never forget you.

My deepest condolences to the Powell family. I knew Betty best as my mom's friend. I knew that sometimes she would pick Mom up for Bingo, and drive her home. Mom considered Betty a good friend. In fact, when Mom first stayed at Gagetown Special Care Home, her friend Betty being there too, helped with the transition. Betty was always so nice and friendly whenever we visited Mom, and her warm smile was always welcome. I didn't know Betty was so active in everything, but I am not surprised. Betty will be missed by so many, but especially her family. RIP %uD83D%uDE4F
