Obituary of Lebaron "Barry" Ivan Hector

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lebaron "Barry" Ivan Hector on June 22, 2022. Born on March 5, 1965 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Ivan and Darlene Hector. Barry served a few years with the Canadian Air Force but was a truck driver by trade. He loved the open road and felt happiest when he was on a trip. Driving to the Quebec border was one of his favorite routes. His love of Tims coffee was unparalleled. He could be found in the parking lot with his best friend Dan Hutchins having a good smoke and enjoying his coffee. Dan was like the brother Barry never had and they could be found in Barry's TV room yelling at the television while cheering Jeff Gordon. Barry was a clean freak, he would spend hours cleaning his transport truck in his spare time and had a place for everything, including decorating with doilies which he loved! lol! He LOVED his 1988 Camaro and would drive around for hours listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan, AC/DC, ICP, and Eminem. It broke his heart when he sold it. He loved eating his stale cheezies, cookies and sour gums! Simpsons was his go to tv show along with MASH and Family Guy. Barry was quite an athlete in his younger years, winning so many awards in track and field for the Long Run as well as playing on the local hockey team. Barry had more tattoos than you could count and loved every single one of them. He collected rings, skulls and Harley paraphernalia. His white Harley Davidson Fat Boy was his prized possession and he would curse every nice day when he was on the road because he wasn't out riding it. He loved his cat, Winston, and even though he didn't practice conventional religion, he was extremely spiritual at heart. Barry didn't always show his feelings but the love he had for his daughter Melissa-March was immeasurable. His grandson Jasper was the light in his eyes and his family meant everything to him. His two sisters were always there for him as were his mom and dad. There are no words to describe how much Barry will be missed. In addition to his parents he will be greatly mourned by his daughter Melissa-March, grandson Jasper, his two sisters Debbie and Shelley (Tommy), niece Kayla, nephew Brady, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many life long friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oromocto Funeral Home. Barry's life will be honoured with a ceremony from the funeral home on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA. Online condolences may be left at www.oromoctofh.com.
