Obituary of Herbert Eldred Crowe

It is with sadness that the family of Herbert “Herb” Eldred Crowe announces his passing on November 18, 2022, at the Oromocto Public Hospital in Oromocto, NB. He was born on April 4, 1936, and was the son of the late Hance and Alvada (Spence) Crowe.

Born in Springhill, NS, Dad started working in the coal mines when he was a teenager until he joined the military in 1957, and stayed until 1985. Knowing how much our Mother loved to dance, he made sure they supported all the Legion dinners and dances including the Black Watch and Artillery dances. When Dad got tuckered out dancing, he left Mom dancing with her buddy Marilyn and meet his buddy Clarence for some special refreshments, then back to the dance floor. He loved the Toronto Blue Jays and his Montreal Canadians, rarely missing watching their games.

Herb will be missed by his daughters Sandra Sherwood (Ron) and Susan Crowe Bourne; grandchildren Laura, Amy, Melissa, Dustin and Christopher; great grandchildren William, Noah, Nathaniel, Hannah, Ethan, and Taylor; great-great granddaughters Raya and Remedy; sister Joan Crowe White; sister-in-law Pat Crowe; brothers-in-law Charles James and Harold Lockhart, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Herb was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Shirley Anne (James) Crowe, sisters Maryann “Poppy” Murphy and Donna Dunn, and brother Arnold Crowe.

At Herb's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of your choosing in Herb's name would be appreciated by the family.
