Obituary of Leslie Parsons

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Leslie (Les) Parsons on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born on October 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Eric and Leila (Newell) Parsons. Les was an athlete who loved playing and watching softball, baseball, hockey, and soccer. He was a two-time inductee into the Oromocto and Area Sports Wall of Fame. He was proud of his long career, having worked for Bird Stairs for 42 years. But mostly Les will be remembered as a man who loved his family and friends, and for his wonderful sense of humour and gentle teasing. Les will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, the woman he devoted his life to, Debby (Laskey) Parsons. He will leaves behind a large extended family and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm with an interment following at the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery. For those who wish, donations can be made in Les’ name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donors choice.
