It is with sadness that the family of Ruth Eleanor Ingraham announce her passing at Hospice House in Fredericton on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, surrounded by her family. Born in Fredericton, NB, on August 7, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Greta (McMonagle) Day. Ruth leaves behind her daughters, Cathy MacDonald (Calvin) of Burton, NB, Brenda Ingraham (Bruce) of Hoyt, NB, and Kelly Ogden (Dan) of Dartmouth, NS; stepchildren, Rick Bruce (Mabel), Deano Bruce (Crystal), Troy Bruce (Sherry), Carla Smith (Rodney), and Brandy Bruce (Derrick Estey); grandchildren, Phillip (April), Johnathon (Dawna), Rachel (Brittanie), Elizabeth (Connor), and Michael (Jade); great grandchildren, Hunter, Harrison, and Ruby; brother, Bob Day (Peggy); sister, Betty Spencer; sisters-in-law, Sandra Day and Darlene Maillet; as well as many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Arthur and Greta, Ruth was predeceased by her husbands, Frank Ingraham and Carl Bruce; brothers, Raymond and Leonard Day; brother-in-law, Willard Spencer; step-grandsons, Matt and Harley Bruce. Ruth will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and beloved dogs, Whitey and Jack. She loved weekend card games, especially 45s, as well as flowers and her garden. Ruth was also a lifetime member of Christ Church in Maugerville. She will be dearly missed. Special thanks to the staff of Hospice House for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Ruth and our family. There will be no visitation. A memorial service for family and invited guests only will be held from the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Pastor Rick Bruce will officiate. Interment will take place in Maugerville Baptist Cemetery. For those unable to attend, a livestream of Ruth’s service will be available to view at the following link: In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory to Hospice Fredericton, Canadian Cancer Society or Christ Church in Maugerville would be appreciated by the family.
