I did not personally know Jeff, but I think of his sister Eileen as one of my sisters as we have a close friendship for many years, first meeting at work. I was away with Eileen last year at her chalet in Montreal when during our drive Eileen and her brother spoke on the phone. I could hear the way they talked, joked and laughed, the love they had for each other and the kindness in Jeff's voice. I know he will be a missed brother, husband, father and friend. My deepest sympathies go out to my dear friend Eileen and family. May you celebrate his life with wonderful memories and share in the good times you had with him. Sending love. Lisa Miller

My sincere condolences Kathy, Zoe and family. Jeff had an unbelievable spirit that will be sorely missed. I have such great memories growing up next to Jeff on the portage. I wish I could share one more belly laugh with him and we could tease each other about that high school curling title we just missed out on. RIP my friend. My deepest sympathies to Kathy and Zoe. Also, to Patrick, Charles Eileen, Jane and Michael - all great siblings I had the pleasure of knowing during my years in Grand Falls. Indeed, Jeff was a great guy and he was always up for whatever was going on: sunny summer days boating with his tri-hull and having a good time - yearly canoeing weekends with Jeff keeping us entertained by the fire - bike rides and general partying at Suzanne's in GF ... and he made it all that much better by sharing so many funny stories / unusual events. Although I lost touch with Jeff over the years, I always remembered him as a GREAT guy and am so saddened by the news of his passing. The only picture that comes to mind at the moment is Jeff simply SMILING - that's who he was at heart and I suspect how he remained later in life. My very deepest sympathies. A.

Dear Kathy, Zoe & Family, I was so saddended to hear of Jeff's passing. I will always remember Jeff for his humour (his big laugh) and generosity. I always enjoyed what became a family tradition of gathering together at "The Dip" on Christmas Eve dinner with Aunt Bea, which is when I would get to see you, Jeff and Zoe most often. He was a great cousin to all of us cousins. He will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget the time we spent together. We will remember him through the many, many fond memories we have. I hope that you are able to find comfort in the support of friends and loved ones in the next difficult days. With deepest sympathy, Sarah "Sarah-Baby" Kirby & Family

Kathy and Zoe, I'm sorry I couldn't get home today to see you and the rest of the family. Our group of cousins was large and, I think, closer than the average bunch of cousins might be, and since Jeff was the eldest of the clan I have many great memories of him. From him driving me around the farm, to when he came to Fredericton and UNB, to our annual Christmas Eve dinners at the Dip. I will miss him. Best to you both.

Kathy and Zoe, our connection to Jeff was through the Atlantic National in Moncton, many years ago. As was his usual'he came over to us and chatted up a storm'such that David and I invited him and Rick to our place for supper'and so our friendship began. He always had a joke or comment or insight on a situation that made everyone laugh'and feel good about themselves. There are no words to express what sadness we feel for his leaving all of us and what you and Zoe are feeling'David and I are but a phone call away'
