Obituary of Jeffrey Alphonse Toner

It is with profound sadness that the family of Jeffrey "Jeff" Alphonse Toner of Oromocto, New Brunswick, announce his sudden and unexpected passing on November 27, 2021. Born in Perth, New Brunswick, on May 18, 1961. He was the son of the late Allison and Patricia (Charette) Toner and was raised on their potato farm in Grand Falls. Jeff is survived by his wife, Katherine "Kathy" Winslow, daughter Zoë (Mitchell Simms), siblings Patrick (Avril), Charles, Eileen, Jane (David Grebenc) and Michael Bourque (Rose), many nieces and nephews as well as a large extend family. Jeff had a passion for anything with a motor. He was a trained heavy equipment mechanic and earned BEd and MEd degrees from UNB. He took pride in mentoring his students into some of the amazing tradesmen that they are today. One of his proudest moments of his career was building his 1965 Shelby AC Cobra kit car with his students at Ridgeview Middle School. This project was a labor of love and he took pride in watching his students take part in this unique and hands on learning experience. Along with his work, he enjoyed having fun with his colleagues, and found some amazing life-long friends throughout his career. Aside from his many projects, Jeff’s love for his wife and daughter always took top priority. Jeff cherished the time he spent with family and loved waking up every day to his beautiful wife of 31 years. His door was always open to welcome friends of Zoë’s and to make sure that the fridge was full and just wanted everyone to be having a good time. Jeffrey was always able to put a smile on even the sourest of faces with his constant jokes and extravagant stories. He was a guy of many talents and a true handy man. He will be sincerely loved and missed. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
